Reasons 21 through 30...
Back to the round-up of all things good in 2005:
21. My boyfriend went skiing in Utah, donated regularly to Amnesty International, learned Spanish, quit his job, planned an extended trip to Argentina, and consistently reminded me of why I admire him so much.
22. He also acquired a pair of hilariously taught swim trunks.
23. One of my closest friends quit his job (seems a recurring trend!), backpacked across Europe, and buggered off to Quebec to hike, fish, and gain some perspective. Would that I had his courage.
24. In a year of getting consistently shit on with bad luck, my best friend displayed unending grace and maturity. She’s an inspiration, but an inspiration who I still feel most comfortable drinking daiquiris in my sweats with.
25. I moved in with two fantastic ladies, each doing creative and interesting things with their lives.
26. As a result of #25, I now live once more in an environment where hour-long pre-bar dressing sessions and midnight cookie bake-offs are a matter of routine.
27. Three close friends married the loves of their lives: one on a Jamaican beach, one in a massive summer party, and another in a sunlit vineyard.
28. In 2005, I received correspondence from Canadian friends in New Zealand, Korea, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Costa Rica, Kenya, and continental Europe. That’s just awesome.
29. Friends of mine became teachers, lawyers, musicians, farmers, Masters, sales reps and writers. We’re grown ups…
30. …but at the same time, I can still count on virtually every one of them to laugh at fart jokes on Family Guy with me.
