Bueller? ...Bueller?

Dear comrades, cohorts, and kin, all dutifully procrastinating whatever it is you should really be doing on your computer: I need your help.

After weeks of living in front of my keyboard, hammering out stories for a laughably disparate group of publications, I have decided to take a day off. The magical date is this Friday, November 11. I figure it's good timing: it's Remembrance Day, so it really should be a holiday, and it's at the end of the week, so, you know, it's easy to justify recreation.

Here is my problem. Despite living here for more than two months, I don't really know much of this city beyond Roncesvalles and the westernmost fringes of Queen West. What to do, what to do? I'm planning to go downtown, and have thought about the AGO to see the Catherine the Great exhibit. But other than that, I'm pretty stuck. Are there any funky corners / stores / restaurants / pubs you seasoned Hogtown vets can recommend? Keep in mind I'm rather broke, so the cheaper, the better.

In other news, I hate to pass judgment so early, but the new CBC Radio One afternoon show sucks my ass. Seriously, guys. Luba? What the hell?
