It begiiiiiiins!
It's Elexmas (TM Linny) Day #1, and still no campaign signs on my street! How is my vote to be influenced on my way to buy milk?
In all truth, I am curious to check out the candidates in Parkdale/High Park. The current MP doesn't even live here, choosing rather the prestige of Forest Hill, which, while lovely and impressive, lacks the je ne sais qua of our Coffee Times and mumbling crazies. I understand the principles behind parachute ridings (and perhaps there really were no suitable local Liberal candidates in the area in June 2004), but it still seems to me a disingenuous form of leadership. Like, c'mon, people. Rent a flat and live among the people you purport to represent. But I digress.
On a bit of a bright side, at least our parliamentary crisis made international news. Jon Stewart devoted nearly a whole segment of his show to the news, making our current situation both hip and sexy. To quote the adorable Samantha Bee: "*sigh*... okay... 'eh?'"
